Read Book

Relax and Scribble on paper (optional: close eyes, use non dominant hand)

Looks at scribble from different angles until you find an image hidden in the scribble

Use utensils to define the image

Goals

Encourage problem solving

increase imagination

release anxiety

encourage story telling

increase self-esteem

The teacher might draw a scribble herself and ask the children what the scribble looks like?

(side note)The  Art Therapist, Florence Cane developed the scribble technique, where she wanted gifted children to loosen up and stimulate spontaneity in art!

This scribble drawing was done from one of my Pre-Kindergarten students, age 5 female student. This image displays her imaginative and problem solving skills.  She noticed a unicorn!!!
