Easter Textured Bunnies

During an Art Therapy group, children were encouraged to create bunnies with vibrant pastel paint and plastic eggs. Children enjoyed making prints with different objects.

Helpful Hands

In Art therapy, children were encouraged to write or draw a way they can help someone during the holidays and feel altruistic while doing so. Children decorated the paper hand and as a group we joined all the helpful hands together to show that if we all work together we can help a lot of people.

Owl Lost

In a private art lesson, the child is introduced to 3 dimensional art. She learns how to create a pop up card and use rip paper to create texture in the owl's environment.

Monet Inspired Water Lillies

My Pre K class learns about the the famous impressionist, Claude Monet. My class learns how the impressionists use loose brushstrokes and bright colors. We review a variety of impressionist artwork and then I demonstrate how to paint with the medium, watercolor. My little artists then listen to some classical music and paint some soothing watercolor paintings.

Warli Art

My class learns about Warli, the simplified India art we use basic geometric shapes to form our body parts and use red and yellow paint to create a horizon line for a sunset.

Symmetrical Flowers

Children learn about even numbers by creating symmetrical flowers.

Glad, Sad Monster

We create feeling monster puppets by using elements of art: line, color and shape. These elements of art allow us to express our feelings.

Play dough Monsters

Our class was assigned to mold play dough to form a monster. The monster was decorated with noodles, googley eyes, yarn, and pipe cleaners. So cute! and not scary!

STEAM Solar System

We created a Pre-K O Solar System by using circle sponges dipped in paint. The best part was sprinkling salt on our planets in order to create texture on each of our planets. We enjoyed observing the effects of mixing salt and paint together. We also used toothbrushes and flicked the paint onto the paper in order to create the appearance of millions of stars in the background.

How to draw a bunny

In my private art class, the children learned how to draw a bunny using ordinal instructions. The children were introduced to oil pastels as well.

Line Monsters

During a private art lesson, the element of art, line was introduced to them. They read the book, "I Made A Line" by Leonard Kessler. After,chidren learned about a variety of way to create a line such as a "curvy" line, "zig zag" line etc. The children were asked to create a monster using a variety of lines.

Warm Fish and Cool Ocean

Children learned about warm and cool colors. Children were asked to create the fishes with warm colors and the ocean painted with cool colors. After, the teacher pointed out the contrast of the colors together.

Fairy Tale Castles

Our class read a variety of fairytales and fables. After, they learned how to draw a castles using geometric shapes.

Recyled Kinetic Figures

Learning about the importance of recycling, we created recycled art using pom poms, aluminum foil, recycled paper scraps, pipe cleaners, and google eyes.
